Chris Brown Arrested in UK Over 2023 Nightclub Assault Allegation

US R&B star Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester in connection with an alleged bottle attack that took place at a London nightclub last year. The incident reportedly left music producer Abe Diaw seriously injured.
The arrest was made during the early hours of Thursday, with police confirming that Brown was taken into custody around 2:00 a.m. He is being held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
The Metropolitan Police revealed that the arrest is linked to an event on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in Mayfair. The investigation is being overseen by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.
According to The Sun, which claims to have tracked Brown’s arrival via private jet, the publication informed the police of his presence in the UK. Officers then traveled to Manchester to locate and arrest him at a hotel.
Mr. Diaw alleged that Brown struck him with a bottle, then continued the assault by punching and kicking him while he was on the ground. He suffered leg injuries requiring hospital treatment and mobility assistance upon release.
Chris Brown, famous for chart-topping hits like “Under the Influence” and “Turn Up the Music,” is currently on a UK tour with scheduled performances in June and July. His management team has not responded to requests for comment.
As the investigation unfolds, fans and critics are watching closely to see how this arrest will impact Brown’s tour and legal future. The singer has previously faced legal troubles but remains a dominant figure in R&B music.
